Tom Gosnell
Senior Vice President

Tom Gosnell is the retired senior vice president of ArvinMeritor, Inc., an $8-billion, premier global automotive supplier of a broad range of integrated systems, modules and components for light vehicle, commercial truck, trailer and specialty original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and related aftermarkets.

In addition, Mr. Gosnell served as president of the company's Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group. In this position, Gosnell was responsible for the overall strategic management of the company's global commercial vehicle components and customer-focused services - both for OE production and the aftermarket.

With a bachelor's degree from Denison University, Gosnell holds a master's degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He is an Emeritus Member of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers' Association Business Forum and in 2006 was the inaugural inductee into the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Hall of Fame.


Marc Meyer

Professor Meyer conducts research and teaches in the areas of new product development and technological entrepreneurship. He is co-director of the College's High Technology MBA program, consistently ranked among the leading technology-focused MBA programs in the country. He is also an active participant in the HTMBA-derived offerings at EMC, the Mathworks, and BAE Systems. A founding member of the team creating the University's School of Entrepreneurship, Professor Meyer was awarded the Peter and Agnes Sarmanian Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies in 2001.

In his research, Professor Meyer focuses on the development of next generation products, systems, and services. He has studied product development within computer manufacturers, software firms, financial and health care providers. Professor Meyer has published extensively in such journals as Management Science , IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management , MIS Quarterly , The Journal of Product Innovation Management , the Academy of Management Executive , The International Journal of Technology Management , Research Technology Management , Research Policy , and Sloan Management Review . He is also co-author of The Power of Product Platforms (The Free Press, 1997), a book widely used in the product development community. Professor Meyer was named the Holland Award winner for 2002. The award is presented annually by the Industrial Research Institute, an organization comprised of R&D executives of Fortune 1000 corporations to recognize leading management research. Professor Meyer holds an AB from Harvard University, and MSc and PhD degrees from MIT.


David Sylvester

Currently a partner at Venture Philanthropy Partners, David Sylvester is an accomplished attorney whose 24-year practice included advising private and public companies in the areas of early through late-stage venture capital financings, public offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general corporate law.

Mr. Sylvester has been recognized for exceptional standing in the legal community in the areas of corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in 2003 through 2006. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of leveraged buyouts and private equity and securities law.

Throughout his career, Mr. Sylvester has been active in the community. A New Orleans native and former New Orleans public housing resident, he has spent the last year working on both informal and formal rebuilding efforts in the hurricane damaged region, spending a week a month in that city. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Isidore Newman School and on the Board of Directors of The Idea Village Inc., a nonprofit business accelerator, both in New Orleans.
